Parklands Leep

Bluesky served as Architect and Principal Designer for Liverpool City Council on the transformation of the former Parklands High School and Community Centre into two new specialist education facilities.

The project created Bank View, a 300-place SEND school for pupils with ASD and CLD, and LEEP, a 70-place Pupil Referral Unit for Years 10 and 11. Work was delivered in phases, beginning with the refurbishment of the Community Centre to relocate LEEP. Bluesky, who also designed the original school in 2000, then refurbished part of the former high school to form the new Bank View School. Improvements included enhanced toilet provision, acoustically upgraded classrooms, strengthened security, specialist practical teaching spaces, sensory landscaping and a new minibus drop-off and pick-up area.

LEEP opened in September 2023. Bank View followed with Phase 1 completed in September 2023, Phase 2 in September 2024, and the final phase set to bring the school to its full 300-pupil capacity.
